Mountain West Leadership Group, based in Billings Montana, helps operational organizations diagnose leadership system failures that drive turnover, productivity loss, and execution breakdowns.
Leadership problems are rarely just leadership problems.
They are operational problems — and operational problems eventually become financial problems.
Use the MWLG Leadership Cost Calculator to estimate the potential impact inside your organization.
If you are looking for generic coaching or inspirational leadership talks — we are not the right fit. If you need execution stabilized and leadership behavior corrected — we are.
Organizations usually seek outside help when something in the operation stops working the way it should.
Supervisors struggle to manage people. Communication between teams breaks down. Managers spend their time putting out fires instead of improving performance.
Over time, the problems compound — turnover rises, discipline weakens, and execution becomes inconsistent.
The real issue is a leadership system problem.
Mountain West Leadership Group helps organizations identify where leadership structures are breaking down and how those gaps affect operational performance.
Clients work with us when they need:
This is not theoretical leadership development
It is operational performance protection
Because leadership problems are rarely just leadership problems.
They are operational problems — and operational problems eventually become financial problems.
Scott Legg
Operational Leadership Advisor | Founder, Mountain West Leadership Group
Scott Legg is an operational leadership advisor with more than two decades of experience leading and stabilizing high-accountability organizations in performance-critical environments.
After serving 25 years in the United States Marine Corps, Scott retired as a First Sergeant, the senior enlisted leader responsible for the leadership development, discipline, and operational effectiveness of large organizations.
In this role, he operated as the principal advisor to commanding officers on all matters affecting leadership performance, organizational discipline, and operational execution.
He was directly responsible for helping shape the leadership standards and accountability systems that governed organizations of more than 500 personnel, ensuring leaders at every level maintained the discipline and structure required to perform in complex and high-pressure environments.
In these environments, leadership failure is not theoretical. When leadership systems break down, the consequences are immediate — operational disruption, breakdowns in accountability, and loss of trust across the organization.
Because of this, high-performing organizations build leadership systems intentionally. Expectations are clear, accountability is enforced, and leaders are developed to translate strategy into disciplined execution.
That operational leadership experience forms the foundation of Scott’s advisory work today.
